The only problem is with certain films that certainly aren't old like "Looper" I can't rent the movie. Some movies I have not seen before and I do not want to own them. I just want to watch them once and be done with them. It bothers me to no end because to rent a movie could be anywhere from 2. Some of these movies that they only give you the option to buy on the other hand cost around I think the Play store won't make very much money if you have to buy all the films you watch rather than allowing you to rent for 24hrs.

Since the new Play Store design is out, I think there should be a rent and a buy button. Those buttons should cause a pop-up which let's you choose standard or high definition afterwards. But really is there a reason behind this Google might have explained? Is there somewhere we can bring the issue to Google's attention to have this fixed? Not really Google's fault in my opinion and I think they already know it's good for their business to fix this. They can only rent films where someone else doesn't have the exclusive rights to rent for a certain amount of time, i.

Once the content deal expires they will probably be available for rental from the Play Store, but apparently studios get to pick and choose who gets the first few months of profits from renting their films. Not sure what the benefit to them is, but yeah it's a sad world. Now the Google Play Store asks for confirmation to make the purchase. When you rent your movie, Google will confirm your purchase through Google Checkout. You need to be signed in to your Google account and also have to provide payment type like credit card, debit card or redeem using Google Prepaid vouchers.

The Google Play Store will now prompt to add payment details. Once all the details are done, follow the instruction to make payment. All the movies that rented or purchased can be seen in My Movies tab. Now, click on the Watch button near the movie title in the Play Store to start watching online.
